Morocco Has Developed ‘Impressive Capacity” in Rapid Production of Masks (Expert)

Rabat – Morocco has developed an “impressive capacity” in the rapid production of masks, said Dominique Bocquet, Professor at Science Po and Senior Fellow at the Policy Center for the New South (PCNS).

Speaking in a web interview conducted by the PCNS about the expected impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the future of the European Union (EU), the expert noted that this health crisis has shown the usefulness of having “very strong” links with Africa in general and the Maghreb in particular.

The geographical proximity of Morocco and Europe is a factor of opportunity for Europe-Maghreb relations, to have an added value of exchange, a mutualization of capacities and a value chain of proximity, said Bocquet.

In this Europe-Africa continuum, the Maghreb has a major role to play, the expert stressed, adding that the “Europe-Africa” time zone allows “geographical proximity” and “synchronization” of life.
