Morocco and IMF, Solid and Fruitful Partnership, IMF Managing Director

Marrakesh – Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva highlighted, on Tuesday in Marrakesh, the solid and fruitful partnership between Morocco and the IMF.

“Morocco and the IMF are linked by a very solid partnership”, said Georgieva in a press statement after her visit to the Riad Zitoun school, which received a grant from this international financial institution.

On this occasion, Georgieva underlined the important reforms adopted by the Kingdom to make its economy more inclusive for the benefit of its socio-economic development, saying that the IMF supports Morocco and all the reforms undertaken.

In addition, she welcomed the choice of Morocco to host the Annual Meeting of the IMF and the World Bank to be held in 2021 in Marrakesh.

“After several years at last this event will be organized on African soil”, she said, stressing that Morocco was chosen for its history, its culture and its economic dynamism.

Thanks to this event Marrakesh will become a world economic and financial capital, she noted, saying that she is very satisfied with the progress of preparations for this event.
