Cedar Road to be upgraded into a dual carriageway

Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport, Dr Ismail Vadi, will on Thursday, 02 March 2017 launch the Second Phase upgrading of Cedar Road from Witkoppen to Valley Road in Fourways, Johannesburg.

The R80 million road project is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) between the Department and the Steyn City Development.

Completed in June 2016, the first phase included upgrading both Cedar Road North and South into a dual carriageway as well as improving pavement life from Valley to Runnymead Roads.

The second phase involves the widening of Cedar Road into a dual carriageway. This will also consist of new pavement layers, pedestrian walkways and upgrading of the storm-water system.

Cedar Road forms part of the provincial road network acting as an inter-urban collector for surrounding townships.
