Loroum/Special delegation of Ouindigui: Internally displaced women trained in saponification

The Special Delegation of the commune of Ouindigui, in the province of Loroum, launched on Monday May 28, 2024, a training session in saponification for the benefit of 20 internally displaced women from Ouindigui living in Titao.

As part of the implementation of the Community Recovery and Stabilization Project in the Sahel (PCRSS), the special delegation of the commune of Ouindigui is organizing from May 27 to June 2, 2024, a training session in saponification for the benefit of internally displaced women from Ouindigui living in Titao.

‘I had been doing this job for a long time. My goal is to pass on this knowledge to other women so that they can make it an income-generating activity,’ underlined the endogenous trainer, Ramata Ganamé.

For her, this will help relieve many internally displaced women who are suffering.

‘We hope that those who contributed to offering us this training can continue the initiative by equipping us with the technologies necessary to practice the profession,’ said Sarata Niampa.

According to the departmental women’s coordinator of Ouindigui, Salmata Niampa, women are going through a difficult situation in this security context.

‘Even finding soap to wash clothes is a problem. In addition to allowing women to have some financial means to meet their needs, this activity will make soap available on the market and contribute to hygiene in households,’ declared the departmental coordinator.

The commune of Ouindigui, in the province of Loroum, is in the grip of a security crisis which has caused the displacement of its populations.

In order to contribute to strengthening resilience, initiatives are developed for populations displaced in other municipalities.
