Vaccination is planned by the State through the Ministry of Health throughout the national territory in collaboration with neighboring countries.
For the first time, this launch in the province of Léraba is intended to be local within the confines of the urban CSPS of Sindou, capital of the province of Léraba.
According to the chief health district doctor (MCD) of Sindou, Dr Lamine Ouattara, this local launch aims to help reach as many populations as possible in order to avoid anythin
g that may be hesitant about vaccination, with the support of the first local authorities .
For Dr Ouattara, the statistics in 2023 for the Sindou district only had suspicious cases where the samples sent for confirmation turned out to be negative.
‘Poliomyelitis is a disease under surveillance through their routine activities. In this sense, we have so-called priority sites where health workers have a focused view,’ he explained.
The secretary general of the province of Léraba, Yéonviel Somé, called on the target populations of Léraba (women and heads of households), to accept receiving health workers in their concessions in order to facilitate vaccination and screening children.
