Poni: Media actors from the Djoro region are participating, from September 2 to 3, 2025, in a training session on the theme: ‘Practicing journalism in a crisis context: issues of ethics, professional conduct and information processing in Burkina Faso’, initiated by the regional directorate of communication, culture, arts and tourism. The opening ceremony, chaired by Carole Yamwemba, Regional Director of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, took place this Tuesday in the meeting room of the said directorate. Participants from the region’s four provinces will spend two days exchanging ideas on best professional practices during times of crisis.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this training is part of the dynamic of strengthening the capacities of media professionals in a context marked by security, social and economic challenges. The Director General emphasized that “the role of journalism remains crucial in informing with accuracy, responsibility and professionalism.”
The first official added that the framework offered by the session aims to encourage exchange, the sharing of experiences and mutual learning, in order to allow each participant to leave better equipped to accomplish their mission of informing, in compliance with the rules.
