IMF Chief Voices Confidence in Success of Organization of WB-IMF Annual Meetings in 2021 in Marrakesh

Marrakesh – Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva expressed, Tuesday in Marrakesh, her confidence in the success of the organization of the annual meetings of the IMF and the WB in 2021 in the same city.

“Morocco will succeed in this important event, given its great experience in this field”, underlined Georgieva during her talks with wali of the Marrakesh-Safi Region, governor of the prefecture of Marrakesh Karim Kassi-Lahlou, according to a press release from the wilaya of Marrakesh.

On this occasion, Georgieva welcomed the progress that the Kingdom is experiencing in various promising sectors, as well as all the initiatives that aim at the socio-economic integration of young people and women, considered as a lever for society’s development.

The IMF Managing Director also expressed her joy for visiting Marrakesh for the first time after her appointment as head of the International Monetary Fund.

For his part, Kassi-Lahlou highlighted the city’s significant economic potentials, as well as the various initiatives taken to establish an appropriate climate in favor of a productive investment.
