Govt. Chief Highlights Quality of Long-standing Moroccan-Spanish Relations

Rabat – The head of government, Saad Dine El Otmani, highlighted, Monday in Rabat, the quality of the long-standing relations between Morocco and Spain, as well as the geographical proximity of the two Kingdoms.

At his meeting with president of the Valencian government, Ximo Puig, and his delegation, El Otmani reviewed the evolution of the advanced regionalization project Morocco has been going through and the status of the kingdom’s regions regarding legal, administrative and financial matters, as well as the attractive potential they offer for investments, said a statement by the head of government’s department.

He also stressed the interest shown by Morocco to the industrial sector, particularly the automotive industry, insisting on the importance of complementarity to achieve efficiency and obtain equity in economic ties and investments both regionally and nationally, the same source added.

For his part, the head of the local government of Valencia expressed his determination to strengthen economic relations with Morocco and its regions, given the special status of the Kingdom as a gateway for the African continent.

After outlining the economic and investment potential available in his region, Puig emphasized the fact that Morocco remains a strategic partner and the first client of Valencia outside the European Union.

He also expressed the readiness of his region to broaden the scope of its cooperation with the Kingdom in the areas of the automotive and port industries with a view to achieving economic complementarity and dealing with competition, the statement noted.
