“This is my first official visit to Morocco after […] the new government in Gambia was formed; a fact that amply demonstrates the excellence of relations between our two countries,” Tangara said at a press briefing after his talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, to whom he conveyed greetings from President Adama Barrow to His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

He noted, in this sense, that the two countries are preparing to organize a joint Moroccan-Gambian commission in Banjul, adding that a team from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad is currently in Gambia to open “a diplomatic post” of Morocco.

Tangara also welcomed the support provided by the Kingdom in the field of training of Gambian officials.
