Economy Minister Holds Talks in Rabat with Turkmen FM

Rabat – Minister of Economy, Finance and Administrative Reform, Mohamed Benchaaboun, on Thursday held talks in Rabat with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredow.

On this occasion, the two sides welcomed the excellent relations between Morocco and Turkmenistan and underlined their willingness to explore the means to develop bilateral economic cooperation in areas of common interest, said a release from the ministry of Economy.

The visit of the Turkmen official to Morocco takes place following the political consultations held between the two countries in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, in September 2019, and which pave the way for exploring the possibilities to enhance bilateral cooperation and partnership between Morocco and Turkmenistan, particularly in the economic, commercial, financial and energy sectors, the source added.

Benchaaboun stressed that the Agreement on commercial, economic, technical, scientific and cultural cooperation signed in September 2019 between Morocco and Turkmenistan can serve as a basis for boosting economic relations between the two countries.

Meredow is on a two-day official visit to Morocco as part of the consolidation of relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
