‘Dear faithful of our Churches, dear compatriots of Burkina Faso,

Easter 2024 is celebrated this year on Sunday March 31. Easter, which is the feast of the resurrection of Christ, is at the heart of the Gospel and Christianity. It is because Christ, the Lamb of God died to atone for our sins, that His sacrifice was pleasing to God, and God raised Him from the dead. ‘For Christ, Our Passover, has been slain.’

The commemoration of Easter reminds people that God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

Dear faithful, dear compatriots,

Peace has always been a matter of concern for all countries, particularly for the Land of Upright Men, at a time when the fight against v
iolent extremism rages. But for peace to be established, and lasting peace, it is important that each of us makes peace; first peace with God through the forgiveness of one’s offenses. It is through Christ the Lamb of God that we have God’s forgiveness. This is why by celebrating this Easter, we ask God to give us grace by showing us His great mercy.

Dear faithful, dear compatriots,

After being forgiven by God, He will ask us to do the same with our neighbor. ‘Forgive us our trespasses, as we also forgive those who trespass against us.’ This means that at Easter we have God’s forgiveness, but God in turn requires us to forgive each other. It is on this condition that we will be able to live together in peace, in cohesion, and in tranquility.

Dear faithful, dear compatriots,

God loves us, this is why He created us in His image and likeness. And when we sinned, He reached out to us by sending Jesus to save us from our sins. He rose again, and He ascended into heaven. He expects each of us to come to God in
repentance to make peace with God and with all men.

Dear faithful, dear compatriots,

We pray that God allows Burkina Faso to regain its former peace and tranquility. May Burkina Faso once again become a haven of peace where life is good. As Jesus conquered sin and death, we can trust in Him! He is the Prince of Peace. He alone can sow true peace in the hearts of men.

The time has come for all Burkinabè from inside and outside to join hands to overcome our differences, and to build a new Burkina where peace and better living together reign. . This is only possible if each of us turns to God the Almighty.

On this Easter 2024, the Federation of Evangelical Churches and Missions (FEME) wishes all Burkinabè people peace with God through the Lamb of God, reconciliation and better living together among all Burkinabè people.

Happy Easter 2024 to everyone! Jesus Christ is resurrected, He is truly resurrected!
