Dr. Lende Tougri Takes Over as Regional Director of Health in Nakambe


Nakambe: The Governor of the Nakambe region, Colonel Aboudou Karim Lamizana, presided over a handover ceremony in Tenkodogo, marking the transition between the outgoing Regional Director of Health, Dr. Issa Guire, and his successor, Dr. Lende Tougri. The event underscored the importance of continuity and the enhancement of existing achievements in the health sector.



According to Burkina Information Agency, Dr. Lende Tougri, the newly appointed Regional Director of Health, acknowledged the contributions of health personnel, administrative, customary and religious authorities, defense and security forces, and technical and financial partners. He emphasized the collective commitment and resilience of these stakeholders as crucial to past successes. Dr. Tougri also highlighted his role as Coordinator of the National Tuberculosis Control Program (NTP), dedicating this achievement to his direct collaborators.



Dr. Tougri expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Health, pledging to work diligently to uphold achievements, tackle ongoing challenges, and inject new momentum into the regional health system. As a specialist in public health, he brings a wealth of experience to his new role.



Outgoing Regional Director, Dr. Issa Guire, reflected on his four-year tenure, expressing gratitude for the trust placed in him. He noted key focuses of his mandate, such as strengthening the health system, epidemic control, care for internally displaced persons, community health promotion, and organizing “Community Health Night” events.



Governor Lamizana congratulated Dr. Tougri on his appointment, urging him to continue the initiatives begun by Dr. Guire. The Governor emphasized the need for collaborative management with health districts, the Regional Hospital Center, and community stakeholders to improve access to quality healthcare.



The ceremony attracted officials, partners, NGOs, and community representatives, marking a significant moment in the Nakambe health region’s institutional life. It showcased the commitment of health authorities to ensure public service continuity and better healthcare access amid security and humanitarian challenges.
