Covid-19: 1,517 New Confirmed Cases and 1,442 Recoveries in 24 Hours (Ministry)

Rabat – One thousand five hundred and seventeen (1,517) new cases of coronavirus infection (Covid-19) and 1,442 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco in the last 24 hours, announced Monday the ministry of Health.

 

This brings to 88,203 the number of contaminations since the first case was reported in the Kingdom on March 2, and to 68,970 the number of fully recovered people, i.e. a recovery rate of 78.2%, the ministry said in its daily report.

The number of fatalities rises to 1,614, with 36 new cases recorded in the last 24 hours, i.e. a case-fatality rate of 1.8%, according to the same source.

The deaths occurred in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (17), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (04), Daraa-Tafilalet (03), the Eastern region (03), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (02), Marrakech-Safi (02), Souss-Massa (02), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (01), Fez-Meknes (01) and Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (01).

The new cases were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (518, including 369 in Casablanca), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (292), Marrakech-Safi (160), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (132), Sous-Massa (132), Fez-Meknes (67), Daraa-Tafilalet (61), the Eastren region (58), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (58), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (28) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (11).

The number of excluded cases amounts to 2,163,560, after 20,177 new negative tests.

Active cases reach 17,619, with a prevalence of about 48.5/100,000 inhabitants. Regarding severe or critical cases, there are 275, 59 of which are under intubation.

The cumulative incidence rate stands at 243/100,000 inhabitants, compared to a 24-hour incidence rate of 4.2/100,000 inhabitants.
