This initiative, the second of its kind, took place at the French diplomatic representation. It mobilized several dozen volunteers among the agents of the embassy and its attached organizations and their families, who responded to this call for solidarity.

“Under the High Instructions of His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), a mobile team of the FAR blood transfusion service moved to the French Embassy in Rabat to ensure a blood collection operation for the benefit of the Mohammed V Military Training Hospital,” head of the blood transfusion service at the HMIMV, Colonel Abdelkader Belmmekki, told M24, MAP’s 24-hour rolling news channel.

The inspection of health service of the FAR has deployed a team of three doctors and six nurses as well as all the material and logistical means necessary for the success of this operation, he added.

This joint operation is an opportunity to express our solidarity with all those who need blood, Colonel Belmmekki stated.

The Defense Attaché for the French Embassy in Rabat, Colonel Vincent Roué, welcomed this second campaign, which comes after the success of the first operation last year.

Hoping that such “a gesture of solidarity and brotherhood with our Moroccan friends” will continue in the future, the French military highlighted the extensive and developed cooperation between the French armies and the FAR, in various operational areas.

A twinning agreement is being implemented between the military hospital of instruction Bégin in Paris and the HMIMV of Rabat, he told reporters.

Emel Maurel, Counselor at the French Embassy, said she was “delighted” to host this moment of solidarity that reflects the fruitful cooperation between the Embassy and the FAR.
