The celebration of the day of customs and traditions was celebrated on Wednesday, May 15 morning in Solenzo in front of the administrative and customary authorities.
Organized by the canton chief of Solenzo, the customary people made sacrifices and met at the ceremony area.
Traditional and mask dances punctuated the ceremony.
According to the provincial director in charge of culture, Kouintani Sanou, this day is welcome. According to him, this day allows for a return to tradition.
‘The transition was right in dedicating this day to tradition because since this morning each concession has been hard at work offering water to the ancestors and asking for peace and cohesion in the Banwa province,’ concluded the provincial director in charge of culture.
Masks of koakoa, Lèkôrô and the troops of Dissankuy and Solenzo are invited this evening to the court of the canton chief for the rest of the festivities.
