Abdellatif Bardach Elected Vice-President of Association of Mediterranean Energy Regulators
Casablanca – The President of the National Electricity Regulatory Authority Abdellatif Bardach was elected, on Wednesday, as Vice-President of the Association of Mediterranean Energy Regulators (MEDREG), during its 30th General Assembly.
During this event, held remotely by teleconference due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the members of the Presidency Council, composed of the President and three Vice-Presidents, were also elected for the 2020-2022 period, said the National Electricity Regulatory Authority in a press release.
It concerns the election of Petrit Ahmeti, as President (Albanian Energy Regulator – ERE), of Abdellatif Bardach, as Vice-President (National Electricity Regulatory Authorityof Morocco – ANRE), of Karem Mahmoud, as Vice-president (Egyptian Gas Regulatory Authority – GASREG) and of the Permanent Vice-president Stefano Besseghini (Italian Regulatory Authority of Energy, Networks and Environment – ARERA).
Besides the election of the Presidency Council, the 30th General Assembly was also the occasion to elect the new Presidency of the working groups within MEDREG, underlined the same source.
The election of the Kingdom of Morocco to the position of Vice-President of MEDREG reflects the credibility of the Kingdom with international organizations and associations. It is also a recognition of Morocco’s tireless efforts in the fields of electric energy and renewable energy, in accordance with the Royal High Vision of HM King Mohammed VI.
