Helping Customers Succeed in the Era of AI
HSBC is one of the organizations currently participating in the Lighthouse Program for early adopters. Each organization in the program envisions using Q Assist in several ways, including:

  • Streamlining analysis, investigation, and reporting tasks for information and knowledge workers to achieve greater efficiency.
  • Reducing the reliance on data science and operations teams for ad-hoc data requests, giving them time to focus on more strategic tasks.
  • Empowering customer facing teams with access to enriched data and insights they need to increase revenue and enhance customer experiences.
  • Enabling teams across an organization to consistently make trusted decisions that are traceable and accelerate operational process improvement.

BNY Mellon is currently evaluating joining HSBC in Lighthouse effort. Quantexa worked with Lighthouse Program participants to project one-, three-, and five-year benefits from deploying Q Assist within their customer facing, data science, and investigative teams. It found an almost immediate productivity gain across three core areas: time saving and efficiency, new opportunity identification, and increased conversion rates.

HSBC anticipates that democratizing analytics and accelerating processes across these areas could lead to productivity gains within the first year of deployment. The company also expects to free up employee’s time, allowing them to refocus on other strategic tasks.

David Rice, Global Chief Operating Officer, Commercial Banking at HSBC, said: “This new solution has the potential to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of complex tasks such as anti-money laundering investigations and sales strategies by providing trusted data and contextual analytics. The introduction of contextual analytics and innovation will enable HSBC to concentrate our resources more productively and ultimately help our customers.”

Quantexa estimates that a tier one global financial institution with three levels of defense in financial crime and fraud compliance efforts, generating approximately 15k alerts a month, could realize significant efficiencies and cost savings by deploying the Q Assist Generative AI Technology Suite:

  • Over £17M in savings enabled annually by enhancing and automating investigating and reporting processes across financial crime and fraud.

Quantexa’s CTO, Jamie Hutton, said: “Quantexa’s engineering principle of shaping solutions to deliver maximum customer value has allowed our clients to play an integral role in helping to shape the product requirements for Q Assist. Through the company’s Lighthouse Program for early adopters, we have the benefit of working with industry leaders that provide valuable feedback throughout our roadmap process.”

Eric Hirschhorn, Chief Data Officer, BNY Mellon, said: “We are excited to see this continued innovation from Quantexa. Our multi-year collaboration has helped us to break down data silos and unify our data with unprecedented accuracy. The next phase in our innovation efforts will see us exploring the potential of enabling frontline workers across the bank to use Gen AI to act on the data insights confidently and reach new levels of efficiency in the process.”

How the New Q Assist Generative AI Technology Suite Works
Quantexa’s new generative AI technology suite will combine Quantexa’s Decision Intelligence Platform and Generative AI through a new data integration layer, prompt builder, and copilot that accelerates the ability of teams to make critical business decisions.

Q Assist delivers trusted, extensible AI anchored by Quantexa’s Decision Intelligence Platform. This lets non-technical teams benefit from Quantexa’s critical platform capabilities including a connected data foundation, graph analytics, modeling, and scoring to augment and automate decision making. The Q Assist Technology Suite is comprised of three components:

  • Q Assist Integration Layer: the nerve center of Q Assist. It is a framework of tools, connectors, and APIs designed to securely link Quantexa’s Decision Intelligence Platform with LLMs and conversational AI systems right out-of-the-box.
  • Q Assist Prompt Builder: an extensible prompt management and sharing capability that easily integrates with external prompt engineering tools and frameworks, such as Microsoft’s Azure Prompt Flow, Semantic Kernel or AutoGen, to put the power in the hands of administrators to define and control prompts and responses that are grounded in contextual data generated by Quantexa’s Decision Intelligence Platform.
  • Q Assist Copilot: allows users to query large and disparate data via a natural language interface, understand and summarize data, insights, and findings in real-time, and automate research, investigation, and reporting tasks.

Today, the company is making Q Assist Generative AI Technology Suite capabilities available to a limited set of customers, with wider public availability planned for early 2025.

Loroum: Titao supplied with basic necessities

The town of Titao was once again supplied with basic necessities on Friday June 7, 2024, after 3 months of shortage.

Departing on the morning of Friday June 7, 2024, around 9 am, it was around 2 pm that the convoy of vehicles, tricycles and motorcycles set foot on Titao, to the cheers of onlookers along the tracks.

A few weeks before, the need for fuel was felt in the city.

The generators of the Veneem Electric Cooperative had stopped working and the locality had plunged into darkness again.

There was no longer any ice water or packaged water sachets on the market.

‘We returned to manual packaging of water in plastic bags in order to deal with emergencies,’ said a woman in full activity.

Drinking establishments and some restaurants had been closed due to lack of fuel.

‘There’s not much going on in Titao right now. There isn’t even any fuel. We do our shopping on foot,’ added another resident.

Sitting on goods in the trucks or in the public transport buses of the convoy, several hundred people decided
to return home.

‘Our journey went well. There were only a few mines that the Defense and Security Forces successfully defused,’ said a trader.

With the arrival of the convoy, Titao regained its former animation. The market square was stormed by residents who came to stock up on products.

‘We are relieved with the arrival of the convoy. Several basic necessities are now available,’ rejoiced a woman who came to the market.

Another, basket in hand, added, ‘Only, we no longer have anything to pay for the products, because money is scarce in the city.’

All night, the transporters unloaded their cargoes and reloaded other goods, notably market garden products for Ouahigouya and Ouagadougou.

The procession of several vehicles set off early the next Saturday morning for the return trip, leaving behind an enthusiastic population.

The city of Titao has been going through a difficult security situation since 2021, but with the multiple efforts of the armed forces and the recent creation of the Rapid Intervention
Brigade (BIR) 21, several opening-up initiatives are being undertaken to the delight of local populations.

Burkina presents its conditions to now join international conventions and organizations

Ouagadougou: Burkina Faso presented its ‘priority social contract’, the basis on which the country will now ratify international conventions and join international organizations, Monday at the podium of the International Labor Organization ( ILO) in Geneva.

‘The Burkinabè People have designed their priority social contract (…) it is now and only in this sense of conquest of our sovereignty that the ratifications of Conventions, their implementation and our presence in Organizations will be subject to the sovereign decision of the People and not to please or please anyone,’ declared the Minister of State, Minister in charge of Labor, Bassolma Bazié, head of the Burkina Faso delegation to the 112th ILO conference.

‘Having further understood and remembered that the survival, stability, development and true social progress of a country will not result from tonnages of ratified Conventions, even less from an artificial presence in a multitude of organizations, the People Burkinabè is resolutely committed and det
ermined in a struggle by making sacrifices commensurate with the historic challenge which is the conquest of its full and complete sovereignty. Because it is only on this condition that we will live free and with dignity,’ the minister said in his speech.

Burkina Faso’s priority social contract, contained in the Action Plan for Stabilization and Development (PASD), puts at the forefront the security of the entire national territory, the urgent and efficient response to the humanitarian crisis, the promotion of good governance and the fight against corruption.

Political, administrative and institutional reforms with a view to strengthening democratic culture and consolidating the rule of law as well as national reconciliation and social cohesion and the organization of free, transparent and inclusive elections are also part of this, recalled the Burkinabè Minister of Civil Service, Labor and Social Protection.

According to him, this social contract of Burkina Faso is consistent with the vision of the ILO as
set out in the report of the Director General of the International Labor Office, entitled ‘Towards a new social contract’

‘However, this should be understood and experienced in reality by world leaders in general, and especially, African ones,’ launched Minister Bazié

The head of the Burkinabè delegation also denounced the ‘discounted representation of African people in international bodies’, a lack of consideration which, according to him, violates even the simple principles and rules of decency.

‘If the ILO wants to survive as a specialized body of the UN, its tripartite constituents must courageously assume responsibility,’ warned the Burkinabe minister.

Burkina Faso, but also Mali and Niger, have been facing terrorist attacks for a decade that appeared after the operations to destroy Libya orchestrated by members of NATO with the agreement of the UN.

Hence a word of recognition from the minister to ‘the brotherly peoples of Mali and Niger with whom we form the Alliance of Sahel States (AES)’, and to
all Partner States in the world ‘who understand and show solidarity with our people in their fight for their full and complete sovereignty.’

The three AES countries are waging their fight against terrorism without any real support from the UN, which for its part regularly expresses concerns about human rights in combat zones.

ATFP, ANETI and Italian AVSI ink framework agreement to recruit 150 Tunisian vocational training graduates

Tunis: A tripartite framework agreement was inked, Monday at the headquarters of the Employment and Vocational Training Ministry in Tunis, between the Tunisian Agency for Vocational Training (French: ATFP), the National Agency for Employment and Self-Employment (French : ANETI) , and the Italian NGO AVSI.

The goal of the agreement is to meet the needs of Italian companies for Tunisian manpower by initially recruiting 150 vocational trained graduates in industrial maintenance, welding and metal construction.

The signing of this agreement is part of the implementation of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Tunisia and Italy last March with the aim to recruit 12,000 Tunisian workers with vocational training qualifications by Italian companies over a period of 3 years, ATFP Director General Marouane Ben Slimane told TAP on the sidelines of the inking ceremony.

The signing of this framework agreement comes after the signing of a tripartite agreement between ATFP, ANETI and the Italian Associati
on of Construction Contractors (ANCE), which helped 40 jobseekers registered with the employment and self-employment offices and graduates of the national vocational training system in construction and related fields to be recruited by Italian companies operating in the construction and public works sector, he added.
